Last week I celebrated my two-year Bloggerversary and my 28th birthday (Be sure that you enter into both of the giveaways). As I reflect both of these events, I thought to myself that I’m knocking on 30’s door and time waits for man!
So on my birthday, I sat at the dinner table with my mom, my lady and one of my good friends and we talked about all the great things that happen to me over the past year… I ran a marathon, I was featured on TV, I went to London, and I bought a house… It’s needless to say that I had some great things happen. However, few of these things I actual had a goal for… As I thought about it more, the more it did not sit well with me. Yeah, I’m grateful for everything, but it open my eyes to a larger problem… I was letting things come my way instead of actually going out and getting them. Don’t get me wrong I love when things just fall into my lap but lately I’ve been asking myself how is it going to help me in the future… I don’t know
The more I thought about this phenomenon, the more it frustrated me… What am I missing? Then it happen… I was thumbing through my Runner’s World magazine with the world cup on as my background noise… Then I heard “GOALLLLLL,” I don’t know if it was a sign from god but I had the realization that I really didn’t have any goals I was working towards this past year… That was the missing link to my frustration. The only thing that came to mind afterwards was, “Shit! I need some goals this year.” So I sat down, put pen to paper and started to jot things down… I got the idea from Brooke: Not On A Diet to come up with 29 goals to accomplish before I turn 29. I think it will be an interesting twist to getting things accomplish. So here’s what I got:
- Turn my blog into a business
- Write my first e-book

- Make at least $25k from my blog.
- Plan a vacation

- Get certified in as an ACE Health Coach
- Get certified in RRCA
- Retake the GRE
- Increase my page views from 10K/moth to 50K/ month

I know some of these goals are not SMART so I’ll come back and refine them but I think this is a good starting point. Which of my goal stand out to you?
Until next time!
