I received the Jaybird Freedom Sprint wireless ear buds in my swag bag for speaking at Fitbloggin’13.  Since the first day I put them in my ears, I just can’t find a reason to take them out.  The funny thing is that I never heard about Jaybird or their products until I went Fitbloggin’13.  Let just say I’m that glad that I was a speaker this year because these ear buds are life changing!

First things first… How do they Sound?

I use to be a DJ so I know a thing or two about sound… Though I’m not an audiophile I know what to look and listen for; some ear buds that I’ve encountered sound muffled when they are in my ear, some buds sound like you are under water. Well that’s not the case for the Freedom Sprint, the sound crystal clear and the bass is nice and warm. From Hip-Hop to audio books and everything in between they sound great with Freedom Sprint from Jaybird.

Are They Comfortable?

Another reason why I haven’t put down the Freedom Sprint is because how comfortable they are. When you initial put them in your ear can barely tell they are there. Even after wearing them for 4-5 hours they are still comfortable when most ear buds tend to hurt my ears.

While I’m Running…

I’m a big guy, so when I run the vibration travels throughout my body causing ear buds to fall out every mile or so. The Freedom Sprint actually stay in my ears while running thanks to their secure fit feature these buds stay in place.

Some Caveats…

Button Placement

The button placement is one of those little annoyances of a great product. The right ear bud has all the controls the top button is the play pause and answer phone calls and the two little buttons on the side are for seek and volume.

When you put the buds in your ear the controls face to the back of you while the charging port faces the front.  The problem lies when you are trying to press on the volume and seek button with you thumb while your index finger has to hold the ear bud in place. The buttons are stiff to press and using your thumb to press those tiny buttons becomes difficult.

I would love for Jaybird to switch the placement of charging port with the buttons, so that you would be able to press the buttons with your index finger while holding the ear bud in place with your thumb… It seems more natural that way.

Sweaty Cord Problems…

My second caveat that I have with Freedom Sprint ear buds is the cord that connects the two buds together. When I run I sweat like a pig and the cord sticks to the back of my neck.  Occasionally when turn my head, it cause the cord to tug on the ear bud a bit. It’s nothing major, just one of those little annoyances. I wish the Freedom Sprint came with something to hold the cord in place behind your head like their Blue Buds X…

To Sum It Up…

The Freedom Sprint wireless ear buds from Jaybird are an exceptional pair of buds. They sound great, they are comfortable, and they stay in your ears while running. Besides of the little caveats that I have mention above, the Freedom Sprint ear buds are something that I would recommend to my friends.

In the spirit of my 1 Year Blogging Anniversary Celebration going this month, I’m giving all of loyal readers a chance to win a pair of the Jaybird Freedom Sprint… See the Rafflecopter below for details.
