My iHerb Review: Why I’m Leaving Vitacost for iHerb

A while back, I came across iHerb, the online supplement retailer. The company provided me with a promotion to try it out for free, so I did; I ended up liking iHerb enough to switch to them from my previous online retailer, Vitacost.

I’d never shopped at iHerb before this, but when I was given the opportunity to try them it out, figured that I should give it a shot. One of the things that I immediately liked about the company was their in-depth customer reviews. I had simply never shopped there, as I was already used to the same old song and dance of shopping at Vitacst. However, with the misses and her new found love for protein powder, we can’t keep it in the house!

So here’s the setting: I was making my monthly protein order. Both Vitacost and iHerb carry more or less identical products, especially when it comes to the ones I use. Not only that, but their prices are relatively close, so I had no reason to switch until I made my order.

Here’s where the difference maker was for me.

I ordered my Vitacost order a day before iHerb. It took my Vitacost order 10 days to get to me – but iHerb’s shipment showed up after just two days!

My Vitacost delivery took so long to get to my house that I was tempted to cancel my order and just buy it from iHerb. See, I’ve been spoiled by Amazon Prime. If Amazon can get me what I order, no matter where I am in the world, and it can get to me in no more than three days, this should apply to every other site I use. My time is important to me, and my order from iHerb got to me under the wire without me having to pay any additional fees for the privilege. This is very different than it is with Vitacost; there, I would have to pay extra just to get the same delivery service that iHerb provides standard. That was enough to sell me.

So yes, that’s why I’m switching from Vitacost to iHerb – not because of price, or customer service, or lack of products, or anything else for that matter. I’m switching because I got my order faster than the other company – just in time for my meal prep. If I still were waiting on my Vitacost order I would have had to have bought more protein elsewhere so I could have some for the week while I wait; what an inconvenience!

To the folks at Vitacost: you need to step your delivery game up. Until then, I’m going to be over here at iHerb where my orders arrive at a decent time – and for their standard shipping rate.

What about you – are you ready you make the switch? Well, I teamed up with iHerb to help you make transition a little easier! If you use the coupon code VST126 you will get $5 off your first order, No minimum purchase, so if you find a product that cost $5 you get it for free! Since I’m all about full disclosure, I will get a small commission if you use this code. However, if you know me, you know that I don’t support anything unless I’ve tried it and thought it was the bomb. I value your trust more than a few pennies from commission.  With that said, if you are interested check it out let me know what you think!
