Race Fever

**Coughing** I think I’m sick! My body is trembling, I’m starting to sweat, my legs are itching, my toes are twitching and I have the urge to do the running man. Ah Choo! Ah Choo! I think I got race fever.  I don’t know how true it is, but I heard that the only way to cure race fever is to run races. So today I’ve registered for 3 races and I’m contemplating a 4th race for good measure.  I really hope these races can cure my race fever because I don’t know what else to do.

I wanted to get started on this treatment soon so I looked for a race this weekend (preferably a 10K). I found out that the ING Hartford Marathon is going on this weekend. Great they should have a 10K race right? Wrong they only had 5K, Half Marathon, and Marathon; I’m definitely not ready for a Half Marathon, 5K it is.

That felt good! What’s next?

Hmm..I might as well register for Central Michigan University’s Miles for Medals Homecoming 5K. It’s for a good cause…All proceeds goes to the Special Olympics. I don’t know about y’all, but I watched the Special Olympics this year and I was complete inspired by those men and women who participated. You know what I’m going to create a donation page. Please donate to the Special Olympics.

That’s pretty sweet! I got a race and community service at the same time. What’s next?

Well the Manchester Road Race is in November and last year they had record attendance. I think you should register for that before they sale out. Done!

Wow, I got three races on my calendar within one hour. But none of them are 10K’s and I really think running a 10K will help cure race fever. Hmmm…I found two 10K’s on the same day. One is the 1st annual Cider Donut 10K for Amherst Survival Center and the other one is the Harvest Hustle Run. Both races are the same price, I think the Harvest Hustle is a little farther from my house than the Cider Donut Run so that doesn’t make a difference. It’s the first Cider Donut Run while the Harvest Hustle has been around for a while, does that make a difference? You know what I can’t decide. How about you decide for me? Leave a comment telling me which race you think should be my first 10K (the Cider Donut Run or the Harvest Hustle). Whatever race gets the most votes in two weeks is the race that I will run.

Until Next Time I’m 300 Pounds and Running
