Today I ran at 8:30 am, which is later than my usual 6:00 am run, after a 12 hour drive from Connecticut to Michigan I guess I can give myself a bye for running later than I normally do. It felt good being in my hometown seeing friends and family and running on flat land of course! 🙂
Here’s what today’s workout look like:
The workout was initially easy then it progressively got harder. I can feel my stamina getting better because I started out running full sprints during my run and I wasn’t winded at all. As you can see I ran 2.2 miles in 36.42minutes, burned 472 calories and my pace was 16.14 min/mile. I’m very happy about my positive progression. I’ve set a date for my first 5k which is Saturday, September 8, 2012 @ 9:30AM. It’s the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Run in Cromwell, CT. For information on the run click here.
The park that I ran in had a trail that was 1/3 mile per lap. There were so many trees overhead that covered the park like a canopy. Squirrels were running around me like they weren’t afraid of humans. It felt good to see other friendly faces walking on the trail giving you encouraging words “You can do it!”, “Keep running big man!”.
My form is feeling natural and I’m starting to find my stride. To all the runners out there how long did it take to find your stride?Â
Until next time I’m 300 pounds and running!
