Today I went to the RAC (Romulus Athletic Center) with my girlfriend’s father. It’s a local recreation center with tons of muscle heads walking around. The track is located above the gym, each lap equals 1/10 mile. As noted in my last entry running on flat land is amazing compared to the hills/mountains of Connecticut. My run started off pretty good then all of a sudden three walkers took up all of the lanes.
I’m thinking like, “WTF the outside lanes are for runners! GET OUT OF MY WAY!” Every time I come around the track I have to say excuse me, like they can’t hear my size 13 feet pounding on the track. Let alone I’m huffing and puffing and saying “excuse me” messes up my breathing. I’m thinking to myself “come on ladies I’ve lapped y’all 3 times already. Just show a little courtesy and get out of my way when you hear my coming.” As I get more and more irritated I hear, “Ding! Workout complete! Start cool down.” I say to myself, “Yea I need to cool down before I tackle one of these ladies.” So I get off the track, stretch and go down stairs to the gym and jump in the workout with my girlfriend’s father and his workout buddies. They were doing an upper body workout: decline, incline, and flat bench press, shoulder press, triceps pull downs, and dips. Well I didn’t do any dips, I went down and couldn’t push myself up, but that’s another story.
Here are my stats for today’s run:
To all my runners, what irritates you the most about working out/ running in a crowed gym/track?
Until next time I’m 300 pounds and running
