Welcome Back to 300 Pounds and Running
Last night my girlfriend was pushing my buttons and I became irritated. I didn’t even argue with her I just went for a run. I left mainly to get out the house but my run ended up being very therapeutic.
I decided to take the momentum from my previous work out and run outside today. The birds were chirping and the bees were buzzing. Wait…. I think I’m dreaming! Finding it weird that I dreamt about running; I get out of the bed, put on my clothes and went for a run.
When you are greater than 300 pounds there are road blocks that you constantly hit when you trying to lose weight. Finding workout clothes is one of them.
I tried to switch it up with today’s run but it came back to bite me in the butt. I ran around my neighborhood because I wanted to see something different. I made a right turn where I usually make a left. Everything seemed to be going good with my run. Pandora was playing the right songs to keep me motivated. I was in the zone until I was thought to myself, “Gee, I’m still running downhill!”
I’m back from my mini-vacation in Detroit. I decide to take today’s workout to the treadmill in the club house of my apartment complex. My workout took forever to complete, I could feel myself slowing down on the treadmill my body wanting to stop while my mind telling me to keep going, I’m gasping for air. This is the battle I face every time I run. Eventually I hear “Workout complete!”
Today I went to the RAC (Romulus Athletic Center) with my girlfriend’s father. It’s a local recreation center with tons of muscle heads walking around. The track is located above the gym, each lap equals 1/10 mile. As noted in my last entry running on flat land is amazing compared to the hills/mountains of Connecticut. My run started off pretty good then all of a sudden three walkers took up all of the lanes.
