As I stated in Me vs Donuts round 1, I have a weakness for donuts and I know why… They say knowing is half the battle but my question is what’s the other half of the battle because I already know…
Now I had a few people say to me if I want a donut then I should have a donut. Yes, that’s true…However , if my problem was as simple as just having one donut and being good, I wouldn’t be talking about donuts because I would have the self-control enough to limit myself. The problem is if I would have bought the dozen of Krispy Kreme Donuts from those kids. I would have ate the dozen in a bout a day in a half. That’s I’m struggling with!
Earlier this week I was driving to work. During my drive, I thought about all the things going in in my life… My master’s thesis, dealing with this injury from the car accident, and getting this house in order… Anyways I’m thinking about all this stuff and I feel my anxiety start to rise as I pull up to Dunkin Donuts but I ended up passing it…But the thing about the northeast there’s a Dunkin Donuts on every corner like there’s a liquor store on every corner in Detroit. So I pass another one and another…After passing five Dunkin Donuts I pulled into the sixth one and got 3 donuts… Hey it is what it is… I am proud of myself of passing the first five Dunkin Donuts but I eventually gave in… I’ll try to do better next time…
Losing weight is not all flowers and gumdrops… It’s not as easy as they make it on TV … I never understood why they would take a weight loss journey that lasts a year or more and condense it down to an hour show… It gives people a false promise like; Oh they did it in an hour… The truth is losing weight is a constant battle of what you should be doing vs what you actually doing… I shouldn’t be eating donuts but I did, I can’t get mad when the scale isn’t moving or moving in the opposite direction… I have to do better and I will…
One last thing before I sign off… I haven’t ate a donut since Monday… The score Me 1, Donuts 1
