Moving Forward…

The main reason I started this blog was to vent and process my thoughts, feeling, and emotions because I process things internally. Processing things internally can be dangerous and I know firsthand how that stuff can eat you alive and lead you to your demise. The second reason is to inspire. The third reason is to motivate. The fourth reason is to inform and educate.  The fifth reason is to give a different perspective to running, weight loss, and fitness. I am a black man… I’m an educate black man, though my voice does not speak for every black man or even black person for the matter. I am different from than any other blog you have seen. I am not a skinny runner and probably will never be one… I am not a bodybuilder type of person either… However, when it is all said and done, I know my stuff and I have the credentials to back it up… Bachelors of Science in Health Fitness… Masters of Science in Health Promotion… These are my values and I will hold them true to this site…

Those who frequent my blog know that I had a rough 2014 to say the least.  I had two car accidents that has put me back on the couch… This has led to some depression, self-pity, loathing, weight gain and blog abandonment. It’s a dark place to be in and I am starting to climb my way out of this hole. I am not at 100% but I am at least dealing with it a lot better. My thinking about the situation has changed. It went from focusing on my tragedies to focusing on my blessings. I always knew complaining doesn’t make things better but sometimes you have to vent. I think there is a fine line between venting and complaining and I want to make sure that I’m venting more and complaining less. With this iteration, I going to be more unfiltered… I’m not going to be disrespectful or anything. However, my words will some bite to them and some people may find out that they cannot rock with it and that’s cool. Because I am not for everybody and everybody is not for me and I’m comfortable with that.

I am very excited for the next chapter in this journey. There were some ups and downs in the last chapter but hey every journey has them and the path to success is never in a straight line. We are going to get there together.  I appreciate your continued support throughout this journey…

Until next time
