March 2012, I walked into my job at the time which was Men’s Wearhouse and felt a sharp pain in my hip. After going to different 3 doctors I was prescribed physical therapy or as I like to call it pain and torture. After going to physical therapy for two months with no progress, I was sent to orthopedic surgeon and diagnosed with tendonitis/ bursitis. He gave me two cortisone shots and told me that if I don’t lose weight the pain will come back (that’s when 300 pounds and running was created) and prescribed me two more months of physical therapy. The second time around at physical therapy I saw progress, my hip began to get stronger and the pain started to vanish. After going to physical therapy twice a week for four months, it feels weird knowing that this will be my last day. I want to thank Ian, Anthony, and Nicole at Eastern Rehabilitation Network for putting up with my weekly antics for four months. It was a pleasure working with you guys, but I hope I never see y’all again (at least as a patient)! Y’all had so much of an influence on my life that I’m no longer contemplating my career path. I will be pursing both a DPT and PhD after I complete this Master’s program. Maybe I can do one of my rotations there.

I’m having a tremendous week; school started on Monday, I graduated from C25K yesterday, today I graduated from Pain & Torture, and I have a long weekend because of the holiday (I love being a student). 8 days till my first 5K and it’s going to be a piece of cake and y’all know how much I like cake, pies, cookies, and all that good stuff.

Until Next Time I’m 300 Pounds and Running!
