Weigh-In Wednesday

Weigh-In

Hello all,

Long time no see! Especially when I’m participating in the September Blogging Challenge, I think there’s two words that some up why I haven’t posted anything in a couple of days “Graduate School” and it’s kicking my butt this semester. So today’s topic is: How often do you weigh yourself?

What a coincidence because today is Weigh-In Wednesday. Since I can answer today’s topic in three simple words “Once -A-Week”, I’m going to go into Weigh-In Wednesday. Last week I weighed 325.3 lbs. Let’s see what I weigh this week.

Weekend Recap/ Weigh-In Wednesday/ Blog Challenge Day 5

Welcome Back to 300 Pounds and Running,

My weekend in D.C. was amazing it started with a 7 hour train ride from Hartford to Washington, DC; the cool part is we made a stop at the Baltimore Penn Station, that’s where I’m going for fitbloggin’12.

We got to D.C. around 3 pm, check in the hotel and went on our way. We hopped on the metro to go to this Brazilian restaurant called Fogo De Chao and the food was amazing. They had this card that you flipped over when you wanted them to bring you meat and the salad bar was huge! It’s foodie heaven!

Afterwards we caught the metro back to Union Station to go our tour titled: Monuments by Moonlight. I’m glad we took this tour because it was very humid during the day. We stop by all the major monuments and got off at the MLK, JFK, and Lincoln Memorial.

The next day I got and ran 3 miles in the hotel gym. Afterwards we went to B. Smith’s restaurant for brunch; I’m proud of myself because I only had 2 mimosas instead of the 4 I would usually get.

Here’s video about the restaurant

After brunch we went to the Holocaust Museum and came back to the hotel relaxed the rest of the day. On the last day I woke up and ran another 3 miles, had breakfast and checked out of the hotel. On the way back the train stopped in NYC so I walked around to stretch my legs only to find that they have Papaya Dog in the train station; 2 hotdogs and papaya juice please! That was the highlight of my train ride. If I gained weight this week it was well worth it.

Weigh-in Wednesday

Since there are a lot of things going on in this post I am not going to go into detail of my measurements. Last week I weighed 326.7 lbs. Let’s see what I weigh this week.

300 Pounds and Running 325.3

This week I weigh 325.3 lbs. – last week 326.6 lbs. = 1.3 pounds lost. I am surprise that I lost weight, I ate so well in D.C. I was pretty sure that I gain a pound or two. This shows I can go on vacation and still lose weight.

C25K Finished! / Weigh-in Wednesday

Today I graduated from C25K. It feels good to see that all of my hard work and dedication is paying off, and C25K is done! For those of you reading this, If my big behind (I wanted to say A$$) can do it then YOU CAN DO IT! I feel like I should have a Nike endorsement, because everyone I talk to that wants to start running I tell them to “just do it!” I tell them that because people think that they don’t have the physical capability to run, I believe that physical capability is not the determining factor for running, mental capability is. See that mental capability can take you to places that you wouldn’t believe you could go and farther. Because the only limit your mind has is the one you put on it. AND THAT’S REAL TALK!!

Weigh-In Wednesday #2

300 Pounds and Running scale

Yesterday I got a package in the mail; it was my Road ID that I ordered on Saturday. Road Id is a wristband, ankle band, and shoe pouch that have your emergency contact on it.

300 Pounds and Running package

I bought a Road ID because I stay in a semi-rural area and they barely have sidewalks, most of the time I’m running on the shoulder; 9 times out of 10 I don’t have any identification on me and god forbid that I get involved in accident and I’m unable to speak. Sure I have ICE next to all my emergency contacts in my phone but what if that’s destroyed in the accident, I wanted to give my family, mainly my girlfriend the peace of mind that if something happens to me, the first responders will know who I’m and who to contact..

Weigh-In Wednesday

It’s been a month and 15 days since I started this weight loss journey. I’ve tried my best to provide insight into the mind of a 300 pound man who’s training for a marathon. I’ve talked about my workout/runs, nutrition, setbacks, accomplishments, and goals. The one thing that I haven’t talked about is my weight. Sure everyone knows that I weigh over 300 pounds, but if read you my posts up to today, I’ve been very vague about my weight. I might mention if it’s up or down, but I never went into any details about it. That’s because there was something in the back of my mind telling me that I wasn’t going to be successful in losing weight. I’m my biggest critic and I think that my self-doubt was a coping mechanism because I’m afraid of accomplishing my goals. Well self-doubt stops today!
